WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR A STUDY PERMIT?Start with IRCC’s current study-permit document requirements and your personalized application checklist. Generally, evidence includes a letter of acceptance, identity documents and proof of financial support. A provincial or territorial attestation letter may also be required unless an exception applies; Quebec has additional requirements.

The items below are examples of supporting information our office may request, not a universal government checklist. Do not assume every applicant needs every item, that all documents must be notarized, or that an application should be sent by post. Requirements and accepted submission methods depend on your application.Contact our office to arrange a consultation and agree on a secure way to provide your documents.Keep your originals unless IRCC or your lawyer specifically asks for them. Follow the applicable instructions for copies, translations and certification.

Personal information for each person (applicant) over 18 years of age detailing:

• Complete schooling history

• Employment since 18th birthday

• Residences since 18th birthday.

For each parent, child and sibling:

• Full name

• Current address

• Date of birth

• Date of death and

• Marital status

• Four passport-size pictures

• Photocopy of passport (information pages only)

• Birth certificate

• Marriage certificate (if applicable)

• Separation agreement, child custody order (if you are under 16 years of age)

• Proof of assets and property. (Bank statements for previous four months. Proof of Canadian bank account in your name if money has already been transferred to Canada)

• Proof of education (diplomas, degrees, certificates, etc.)

• Letter from school you wish to attend indicating acceptance.

• Signed Study Permit Application Form (this will be completed and mailed to you later)

• Non-Refundable Government processing fees..
